Leg Strengthening Exercises

Leg strengthening exercises can help if you are experiencing weakness in your legs or if you are suffering from restlessness in your legs due to diabetes or even recuperating after surgeries like arthroscopy. Lets take a look at few good exercises

Heel Slide
Lie on your back and bring or slide your knee towards your buttocks. Slide it as much towards your buttocks as you can and hold it for a few seconds. This exercise is particularly useful if you are recovering after surgery or a fall. They are also good exercises to keep your leg muscles strengthened.

Knee Press
Lie on you back and press the back of your knee towards the floor. Try and hold for a few seconds before releasing them.

Quads Strengthening
Lie on you back and lift your legs up. Hold this position for few seconds. Repeat a few times.

Abductor Strengthening
Lie on your side and raise the leg about 15 inches. Hold position for 8-10 seconds. Repeat this few times on both sides.

Abductor Strengthening
Lie on one side. Lift the other leg and rest at about 2 feet of the ground using a support. Now move the leg that’s on the floor towards the lifted leg. Hold position for ten seconds and slowly withdraw.

Hamstring Strengthening
Lying on your stomach raise you leg backwards about 10 inches and hold the position for a few seconds. Repeat 4-5 times.
